Another child approached by a man in Wheaton
Wheaton police say there has been another report of a man approaching a child and trying to entice her into a car.
The most recent incident happened about 5 p.m. Tuesday while a young girl was waiting for her parents in the front drive of Monroe Middle School, located at 1855 Manchester Road, police said.
The child told police officers that a man drove up in a boxy turquoise sedan, asked if she needed a ride and wanted to get into the car. The man drove away when an adult happened to be walking toward the building, according to reports.
The girl described the man as being between 24 and 26 years old, clean shaven with short brown hair, a medium build, having a fair complexion and wearing a T-shirt and black sunglasses. She also told police the car had rust on its rear fender.
Last month, a 14-year-old girl reported that a man followed her on Oct. 16 in the area of Northside Park in Wheaton. He similarly invited her into his car, police said.
