Redskins to honor Taylor
Sean Taylor will be inducted into the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame this month, following the anniversary of his death. Taylor will be honored during a pregame ceremony before the home game against the New York Giants on Nov. 30. He died at age 24 on Nov. 27, 2007, a day after he was shot by an intruder at his home in Miami.
Romo back at practice: Tony Romo was back under center at practice Wednesday, once again zipping passes to Terrell Owens. Romo's return from a broken pinkie on his throwing hand is coming along as expected. The clunky cast he wore the last three weeks has been replaced by a small splint covering only the pinkie.
- Ben Roethlisberger rested his sore right shoulder on Wednesday, although his latest tests showed no additional damage, and the Steelers might not know until late in the week if he can play Sunday against Indianapolis.
- The Detroit Lions tried to be coy about how much quarterback Daunte Culpepper practiced Wednesday and whether their new quarterback will play just days after signing. But in the locker room, it seemed obvious Culpepper is expected to make his Lions debut Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
-The Seahawks expect quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to return against Arizona on Nov. 16. He will miss his fifth consecutive game Sunday at Miami with a hyperextended right knee.
Giants' Tyree on injured reserve: Super Bowl star David Tyree, who made "The Catch" in the Giants' Super Bowl victory over the Patriots in February, was placed on injured reserve. The move was made after Tyree ran out of time trying to get back on the field following off-season knee surgery and then a hamstring injury.
- Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio sent linebacker Mike Peterson home, two days after Del Rio questioned his team's chemistry.
-Former Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall was cut by the Oakland Raiders.
- The Titans' Keith Bulluck has started 105 straight games at linebacker. Some cracked cartilage in his ribs near his chest has that streak in question when the Titans (8-0) play the Bears (5-3) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
- Vikings' defensive end Jared Allen says a sprained right shoulder could keep him from playing Sunday against the Packers.
- Linebacker Zac Diles, who leads the Texans in tackles, broke his left leg in practice Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season.
