Charges in beating of 2-year-old

A Mount Prospect man was charged with aggravated battery of a child and aggravated domestic battery after an incident that sent a 2-year-old boy to the hospital. A Cook County judge set bond at $150,000 for Andrew Peck, 23, of the 1700 block of Forest Cove Tuesday. Police said the toddler, who is the son of Peck's girlfriend, was slammed onto the bathroom floor of his apartment, fracturing his skull. The child was hit in the face causing extensive bruising and his arm was fractured between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. The boy was taken to Northwest Community Hospital and his condition is unknown. Peck's next court date is Nov. 25.
