Algonquin OKs expanded fire district board

With all precincts in, Algonquin voters have overwhelming approved adding two more people to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District Board.

Unofficial results show that 10,007 voters approved the addition, while 5,687 did not.

The new members, adding to the board of three, will each receive an annual stipend of $3,000.

Trustees, who officials hope add additional voices to the board, serve six-year terms.
