Cary Park District notes

The Cary Park District's Kraus Senior Center, 441 W. Main St., offers a wide variety of low-cost programs, events and trips for seniors.

Senior Center hours are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. For more information about the events and programs at the Senior Center, call (847) 639-8118. All programs are held at the Senior Center unless otherwise noted.

Poker Club: 9 a.m. to noon, select Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 6, 11, 13, 18, 20 and 25.

Glee Club: 10 to 11 a.m., select Tuesdays, Nov. 11, 18 and 25.

Craft Club: 9 to 11 a.m., select Fridays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21.

Share ideas and either lead or participate in a variety of craft projects. The cost of supplies will vary.

Bingo: noon to 2:30 p.m. Fridays, Nov. 7 and 14.

Exercise: 10:30 to 11 a.m. select Fridays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21. Free.

Exercise to a video created especially for Kraus Senior Center. Participants work at their own pace through the video using a variety of movements.

Bridge Club: noon to 2:30 p.m. select Fridays, Nov. 7, 14 and 21, and select Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m.

Canasta & Pinochle Clubs: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13.

Book Club: 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood.

Games and Social Club: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Nov. 6 and 20. Play Scrabble, Mexican Train Dominos, Rummikub and more. Enjoy snacks and great company. Bring a snack to share.

Garden Club: 10 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 14.

November's meeting will incorporate a pot painting project. A supply list is available at the Senior Center.

Harvest Fest and Laughing Yoga: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21. Fee is $8/$9. What are you thankful for? Play the Thankful Game and win prizes. Then, enjoy a lunch and a presentation by Josette Carpenter of laughing yoga. Laugh all your cares away in this engaging activity.

Rockford Shopping: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25. Join friends for a day of shopping, lunching, and socializing in downtown Rockford. Stops include Factory Card and Party Outlet, Old Time Pottery and more. Lunch is at Machine Shed and is self pay. Transportation is by Cary Park District Bus. Registration is required. Fee is $10/$11.
