3 hurt in crash which shut down Randall in Algonquin
A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning at Randall Road and Harnish Drive in Algonquin sent three women to the hospital, including one patient who was taken by helicopter to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Algonquin authorities said a Kia Sephia was heading south on Randall Road and turned left into the path of a Pontiac G6 traveling north on Randall Road. All three women were extricated from the vehicles, Algonquin Sgt. Jeffrey Sutrick said.
A 54-year-old woman from Lake in the Hills was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital with unknown injuries, Sutrick said.
The 19-year-old female from Hampshire driving the Pontiac was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin. A 30-year-old female from Pingree Grove who was in the Kia was also taken to Sherman Hospital. Police did not know the extent of injuries.
Northbound Randall Road near the accident was closed for about an hour. One lane remained closed until all traffic was permitted at 2:45 p.m. Westbound Harnish was also closed until 2:45 p.m., police said.
