Teacher sued for encouraging slapping
The Bolingbrook school district is being sued by a middle school student who claims a teacher, unimpressed by a question asked, allegedly responded by encouraging other students to slap her.
The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court indicates the incident happened on April 16, when the Brook Middle School student asked a question during her English as a Second Language class.
According to the lawsuit, the teacher had claimed the student was inattentive and allegedly told other students, more than once that day, to slap her. The lawsuit doesn't say if the students complied with the suggestion.
The lawsuit claims the school district knew of the teacher's habit of treating his students with a lack of dignity and respect and demands his firing.
