Finding a definition for the word 'no'

It seems there is a difference in the word 'no.'

Remember the ridicule Bill Clinton received when he ran the "it depends on the definition of 'is' is" up the flagpole?

Well, it seems that when Obama voted against a military funding bill he might as well have committed a crime against humanity. On the other hand, when McCain had earlier voted "no" on virtually the same funding bill it was patriotic act of courage because McCain said Bush was going to veto the bill anyway. (The difference in the bills was essentially a schedule for withdrawal from Iraq).

Another way to look at it is that Obama cast his vote out of conviction; McCain cast his vote under the cover of darkness. I know when Mr. McCain was at the Naval Academy, "Duty, Honor and Country" were the main topics drilled into the cadets. I wonder where he was when they covered "Honor"?

So I guess it all boils down to what the definition of "no" is.

When you listen to either Palin or Tina Fey (of Saturday Night Live) answer questions without a script, it is hard to tell which is the SNL skit. Now the conservatives are complaining that Newsweek didn't airbrush the cover photo. They keep trying to get us to look at the "real" Obama; are we not entitled to view the real "Palin"? I don't care if she has shoulder-length pink ears and a great big blue eye in the middle of her forehead; it's her wacko associations and ideas and hard right views that should be scaring the daylights out of this nation. If you think Cheney is dangerous you haven't seen anything yet about an imperial vice-presidency. The problem is that you don't know who is pushing her buttons.
