Double standard prevents fair coverage
We have Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates that both have little experience for the offices they want to occupy. It's unbelievable that one gets a free ride from the press and the other is criticized at every turn including experience. This is how Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are treated. I wonder what more would be uncovered if the press actually investigated Obama as thoroughly as they did Palin?
Again I am neither a Democrat nor Republican but there should be some fairness in the way they are portrayed to the public. Obama has very little experience being responsible or accountable for anything. Palin was a mayor and the governor. That required responsibility and accountability. Why isn't that difference emphasized?
It appears the news media and their reporters are prejudice against Palin. Is that because she's a woman? The word prejudice not only includes their opinion of her but also biased reporting preventing her from competing on a level playing field. Doesn't this violate her Civil Rights?
All of these reporters interview her as if she were vying for the presidency and she is not. She may make mistakes and the media only reruns hers to make some point. Biden has made many mistakes, too, but the media doesn't treat his mistakes the same.
A question was asked of Geraldine Ferraro, "What are the requirements to be President?" She couldn't come up with any requirements other than age and citizenship. How then can the requirements be almost infinite for Sarah Palin and the Vice presidency? Isn't this a double standard?
