Briefs: Buffalo Grove park district wins award
The Buffalo Grove Park District has won a Governor's Home Town Award for Kendrigan Field, which is used by the Buffalo Grove Recreation Association's Buddy Baseball team and designed for wheelchairs and walkers. The project is one of 49 honored statewide. The park district and the BGRA completed Kendrigan Field at Twin Creeks Park in 2006, complete with dugouts, benches, scoreboard and bathroom facilities. All parts of the field were designed with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements in mind.
Police investigate burglaries:
Rolling Meadows police released new details on Tuesday from their investigation into seven home burglaries that occurred on Saturday night and Sunday morning. According to police, the target of each burglary was jewelry and in all cases the bedrooms were ransacked. There were no residents home when the crimes took place and one of the incidents was discovered by officers conducting a canvass of neighborhoods following a previous report. Since all of these incidents occurred at dark, residents are reminded to be diligent about keeping lights on inside and outside and to contact police if they observe any suspicious behavior or persons. The burglaries were on the 2300 block of Forest Avenue, the 3300 and 3600 blocks of Freemont, the 2100 block of Robin, the 2100 block of Flicker and the 3500 block of Campbell.
