Barnes & Noble moves to Oak Brook
Barnes & Noble Inc. will open a new bookstore Nov. 12 at Oakbrook Center. Concurrently, the existing store at 1 S. 550 Route 83, Oakbrook Terrace will close.
At about 40,000 square feet, the Oakbrook Center store will be one of the company's largest stores in the Chicago market.
The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. Special features will include a dedicated study and meeting area, a Barnes & Noble at School section with resource materials for educators and home-schoolers, an expanded Libros en Espanol section and a fireplace.
The store will employ about 75 people. The public is invited to a Preview Night Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
