See raptors up close at Sycamore presentations

SOAR (Save Our American Raptors) of Trenton, Ga., will return to Sycamore to present three shows, two on Friday, Oct. 31 and one on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Hosted by the Midwest Museum of Natural History, Friday's programs at the Sycamore State Theater, across from the museum, will allow plenty of room for raptors to fly overhead. This lively and informative presentation features a variety of birds of prey, including an American bald eagle, a Mississippi kite, a black vulture, a barred owl, and several hawks. The free-flying birds permit an up-close view. Ample seating is available for the 11 a.m performance, although the 9 a.m. program is sold out to school groups. Admission is $4 each.

SOAR will repeat their performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Midwest Museum of Natural History. This program, which provides the audience extraordinary opportunities to experience birds of prey at close range, is included in museum admission.
