Alexian Brothers sponsors free health symposium
Alexian Brothers Medical Center is hosting a free women's health symposium from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the medical center, 800 Biesterfield Road in Elk Grove Village.
The symposium is designed to encourage women ages 40 to 65 to learn how to improve their health thorough screenings, lectures and discussions.
There will be many screenings, including blood pressure, body fat, osteoporosis, lipid profile and thyroid panel.
Panelists will be talking about depression, cancer, nutrition, heart issues and menopause.
Some screenings will require a fee.

Win stuff: The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce has a deal for you.
Bring in receipts from purchases from the chamber member stores totaling $300 and you'll be eligible to enter a drawing for $100 chamber gift certificates and other prizes for November and December.
Receipts dated between Oct. 31 and Dec. 31 that total at least $300 are eligible.
Two separate chamber drawings will be held in December and January.

Tree lighting: The Prospect Heights Garden Club will be sponsoring the city's Christmas Tree Lighting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Prospect Heights police station, 14 E. Camp McDonald Road.
Stop by library: The Prospect Heights Public Library will be holding an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the library, 12 N. Elm St.
