• A vandal put a 4-foot-long scratch on the passenger's side of a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica between 3 p.m. Oct. 19 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 20 parked on the 2100 block of Haven Street, police said. Damage was estimated at $300.
• Vandals used black and yellow paint to spray graffiti Oct. 18 or 19 on a shed and the base of a light pole at John Jay School, 1835 Pheasant Trail, police said. A damage estimate was
not available.
• Vandals spray painted graffiti between 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at Robert Frost North School, 1805 N. Aspen Drive, police said. Damage was estimated at $50.
• Burglars smashed the front passenger's-side window and stole a radar detector between 6 p.m. Oct. 19 and 8 a.m. Oct. 20 out of a 2000 Nissan Maxima parked on the 1800 block of West Palm Drive, police said. Damage and value were estimated at $400.
• Annette Martinez, 18, 1802 S. Plum Grove Road, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 2:45 p.m. Oct. 19 and charged with retail theft after she admitted undercharging a friend for two unfinished oak cabinets Aug. 23 at Home Depot, 350 E. Kensington Road, police said. True value of the cabinets was estimated at $370; she charged only $28, the loss was estimated at $342, reports added. Her Rolling Meadows court date was set for Dec. 5.
