Briefs: Halloween fun

Algonquin kids between ages 10 and 14 are welcome to register for the village's Halloween trip to Enchanted Castle, scheduled for Friday. The night includes unlimited Laser Tag, karaoke, bumper cars, indoor go-karting and mini golf. Food will also be provided, and the $42 fee includes transportation to and from village hall, food and game tokens. For details or to register, visit Algonquin org.

Village celebrates 50 years

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Sleepy Hollow is selling a limited edition die cast replicas of police squad cars. Cars come in a clear case with a base and feature hoods and door that open. The cars are $50 plus $10 shipping and handling. All proceeds benefit the Illinois Special Olympics. The cars are available for purchase on at shpd.org/diecast.html or can be picked up from the police station, 1 Thoroughbred Lane.

Centegra offers flu shots

With the flu season approaching, Centegra Health System is providing $25 flu vaccinations at its immediate care centers. The centers are at 10350 Haligus Road, Huntley, and 360 Station Drive, Crystal Lake. The offices are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
