Moving company leaving Westmont HQ
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- An Illinois moving company is getting ready to pack up and move its headquarters to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
SIRVA Inc. is the parent company of Allied Van Lines and North American Van Lines. It will relocate from the Chicago suburb of Westmont and create 240 new jobs in Fort Wayne by 2011.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation says it's offering SIRVA up to $2.4 million in incentives to supplement the more than $16 million that SIRVA is investing in the move.
SIRVA officials say the decision will make it more efficient. The 3,000-employee company does more than 300,000 relocations every year.
