Mourning After: A free self-help group for young widows and widowers (including all with children still living at home) will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 in Room 10 of the Elburn and Countryside Community Center, 525 Main St. in Elburn. Bring a friend or support person. Child care stipends are available for parents with young children.

Friendship Night: Conley Outreach Community Services, together with Conley Funeral Home, will host its monthly Friendship Night meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Great Lakes Leadership Campus, 526 N. Main St. in Elburn. Friendship Night is a free, self-help group for grieving adults. This month's topic is: "I'm Fine - and Other Lies." Light refreshments and a time for informal sharing will follow the group discussion.
