'Suessical The Musical' in Bartlett
The final three performances of Bartlett Park District Family Theatre's presentation of "Seussical The Musical" will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16; Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Sweetest Day dance in Schaumburg
New Beginnings, a Catholic oriented nondenominational social support organization for the separated, divorced, widowed and single person, will hold a Sweetest Day Dance from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Mathews Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Road, in Schaumburg.

Choral Sampler in Barrington
The Barrington High School choirs will perform in this year;s Choral Sampler at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 in the school's Richard C. Johnson Auditorium, 616 W. Main Street. The event will feature all of the school's choral groups and ensembles. Refreshments will follow the concert. Library closes for staff development
On Friday, Oct. 24, the Palatine Public Library District will be closed for Staff Development Day. This includes the main library and the Freeman Road and Rand Road branches.
The main library and Freeman Road branch will reopen 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, and resume its regular schedule. The Rand Road brach will reopen Monday, Oct. 27 and also resume its regular schedule.
Girls have a night out for charity
The Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council will host a Girls Night Out fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16. It will take place at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine.
