Online book fair to benefit Batavia first-grade readers
An online Usborne book fair is currently being held at www.ubah.com/BF26229 to benefit LIFE, or Literacy in Families Empowers. This 10-week program has been held at various Batavia public schools over the past five years to help first-grade readers who are reading below grade level. The program is free to participants, run completely by volunteers, and has been made possible solely through donations from a variety of local organizations and businesses.
All books purchased online will help LIFE earn free Usborne books to use for their program. In addition, all commission earned on purchases will be donated back to the program. To purchase books directly for the program, you can shop from LIFE's Wish List, which can be found on the web page as well. Shipping is free for donated books.
Usborne specializes in top-quality children's books, including informational texts, puzzle books, and beautifully illustrated stories. Usborne books are not just meant to be read, but experienced through interactive features such as textures for infants, lift-the-flaps for preschoolers, look-and-find for young readers, and internet links for older readers and adults.
