We'll help your interest in gardening grow
The Garden Club of Mount Prospect has been in existence for over 45 years, but many people may still be unaware of it.
The Garden Club of Mount Prospect participates in several projects with the Village of Mount Prospect, the Mount Prospect Historical Society and the Mount Prospect Public Library. Among them are Arbor Day plantings, maintaining the Moehling Park Butterfly Garden, helping to maintain and beautify the grounds of the Historical Society and co-sponsoring programs with the library.
Anyone in the community who has an interest in "gardening, the artistic use of plant materials, promoting better horticulture practices, civic beauty and the conservation of natural resources"* is invited to join our organization.
Meetings take place the second Wednesday of the month and are held at Friendship Park Conservatory in Des Plaines. The programs begin at 1:30 p.m. (social hour starts at 11:30 a.m. and the business meeting at 12:30 p.m.).
Some upcoming programs are:
• Oct. 8: Spectacular Arrangements with Flowers from the Grocer
• Nov. 12: Close Encounters on the Wild Side
• Dec. 10: Holiday Arrangements for Your Home
If you are interested in meeting people who share a love of plants, and are interested in learning more about them and working with others to beautify the community you live in, please consider joining The Garden Club of Mount Prospect. All hands and hearts are welcome.
