• Thieves stole a passenger's-side reverse light assembly between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 11 a.m. Oct. 4 from a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse parked in an apartment lot on the 600 block of West Rand Road, police said. Value was estimated at $61.

• Thieves stole an unlocked black BMX bike between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 parked in an alley on the 0-100 block of East Campbell Street, police said. Value was estimated at $300.

Des Plaines

• Vandals spray painted graffiti with black paint between 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 6 on the driver's-side bed cap and panel of a white 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck parked in a lot on the 1500 block of South River Road, police said. Damage was estimated at $200.

•Vandals knocked three wooden bird houses from a tree and pulled seven yard lights out of the ground between 5:20 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 6 in the front yard at a home on the 400 block of Bellaire Avenue, police said. Damage was estimated at $185.

Elk Grove Village

• Thieves stole tires from three trailers between Sept. 27 and 29 at Hyper Trucking, 2751 Old Higgins Road, police said. Value was estimated at $800. Thieves stole a total of four tires from three trailers between 5 p.m. Oct. 2 and 9 a.m. Oct. 3 parked at 950 Arthur Ave., reports added. Value was estimated at $3,200.

• A thief stole a man's wallet around 9:20 p.m. Sept. 29 after he left it on a counter at the gas station at 2310 York Road, police said. Value was estimated at $300.

• Patricia A. Chapman, 43, 612 Mallard Court, Bartlett, was arrested around 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at the police department, 321 Bond St., and charged with harassment by telephone, police said. Her Rolling Meadows court date was set for Nov. 5.

• Thieves stole 1,800 feet of newly installed copper wire between 1 p.m. Sept. 29 and 9 a.m. Sept. 30 at a construction site at 721 Meacham Road, police said. Value was estimated at $8,300.

• Vandals smashed the windows on three Toyota Corollas around 3:30 a.m. Sept. 27 parked in a lot on the 1000 block of Charlela Lane, police said. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

• Thieves cut the trailer hitch and stole a black 2002 Wells Cargo trailer containing hand tools between 8 p.m. Sept. 29 and 7 a.m. Sept. 30 from Ability Fasteners, 685 Fargo Ave., police said. Total value was estimated at $5,300.

Mount Prospect

• Thieves stole a boys' black and blue mountain bike between 5 and 6 p.m. Oct. 6 locked in a bike rack at St. Mark's Church, 200 S. Wille St., police said. Value was estimated at $500.

• Rosalino Ortiz-Pinda, 37, 2010 W. Algonquin Road, Apt. 4B, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 5:55 p.m. Oct. 5 and charged with local ordinance possession of alcohol on park district property after an officer saw him drinking malt liquor while sitting in a park at 1500 S. Busse Road, police said. His Rolling Meadows court date was set for Nov. 13.

Rolling Meadows

• Vandals hurled eggs between 7 and 8:15 p.m. Sept. 26 that hit a 2005 Acura TL parked on the 5400 block of Groveside Lane, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

• Burglars stole a bicycle and sleeping bag between Sept. 19 and 25 out of an unlocked storage unit in a condominium building on the 2500 block of Algonquin Road, police said. Value was estimated at $120.

• A vandal hurled a rock between 10 p.m. Sept. 26 and 3:45 a.m. Sept. 27 that smashed the windshield on a 1998 Ford pickup truck parked on the 4900 block of Weber Drive, police said. Damage was estimated at $200.

• Vandals scratched the driver's side of a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro between 8:45 and 7:20 p.m. Sept. 28 parked in a restaurant lot at 2885 Algonquin Road, police said. A damage estimate was not available.
