Tri Cities group offers online stress test

With the crisis on Wall Street, a boom of home foreclosures, and high energy and food prices throughout the country, no one can blame you for feeling anxious or overwhelmed. These days it is common and understandable to be angry, worried and even gloomy, especially if you lost your retirement fund, your job, your house or are stressed about paying the bills.

Worry, anger and stress are normal, appropriate and even necessary during life's difficult moments. But when negative feelings prevent you from doing your daily activities or interacting with friends and loved ones, it might be time to seek help. TriCity Family Services can help you determine whether you are having a normal reaction to stressful events or something more.

On National Depression Screening Day on Friday, Oct. 10, you can take just a few minutes to complete an anonymous online screening that gauges your likelihood for depression, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder. To take the online screening, visit TriCity Family Services, tricityfamilyservices.org.

The screening tool is available 24-hours a day and can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. All results are anonymous and private. Just click on "Online Screening for Depression & Anxiety."
