Arlington Heights
• A 2006 Ford Freestyle on the 1400 block of South Highland Avenue was broken into between 1:45 and 3:20 p.m. Oct. 4; a GPS unit was stolen.
• An unlocked 2002 Pontiac Grand Am on the 1400 block of West Euclid Avenue was burglarized between 6 p.m. Oct. 4 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5; 30 CDs and a pouch with road maps were taken.
Buffalo Grove
• About $3,200 cash was taken from a home burglary on the 1100 block of Thompson Boulevard between noon Sept. 29 and noon Oct. 5.
• A GPS unit and pool cue was stolen out of an unlocked 1998 Chevrolet Venture on the 500 block of Crown Point Drive between 7:45 p.m. Oct. 4 and 10:15 a.m. Oct. 5. The theft was estimated at $1,020.
• Michael Walter Neuhengen, 26, 136 N. Bissell Drive, Palatine, was arrested around 1:55 a.m. Oct. 5 and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Milwaukee Avenue at Inverrary. His court date is Nov. 5.
• A $2,000 laptop computer was stolen from a counter at Tropical World, 802 Buffalo Grove Road, between noon and 3 p.m. Oct. 4.
Des Plaines
• Ethan Antarik Justin Davis, 23, 650 Murray Lane, Apt. 203, Des Plaines, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 3 outside a store on the 700 block of West Golf Road and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His court date is Nov. 6.
• David A. Ortiz, 35, 2446 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, was arrested around 7:50 p.m. Oct. 2 and charged with retail theft from Jewel-Osco, 819 S. Elmhurst Road. His court date is Oct. 24.
• Two bicycles were stolen from a storage room in an apartment building under construction on the 300 block of Western Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 2. The loss was valued at about $800.
•Patrick Michael Snyder II, 44, 499 E. Prairie Ave., Des Plaines, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. Oct. 4 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after officers were called to a bar on the 1300 block of Lee Street where Snyder had been ejected. Officers discovered an arrest warrant for him out of Sangamon County, and he was taken to the police department, where they found cocaine on him. His court date is Oct. 21.
• A red 1990 Honda CR-V was stolen out of an auto service lot on the 1600 block of South River Road overnight Oct. 2-3.
• A 2001 Honda Civic on the 500 block of Florian Drive was vandalized overnight Oct. 3-4; damage was estimated at $400.
Mount Prospect
• A vandal hurled a broken chunk of concrete that smashed the outer pane of a double-pane window and scratched the drive-through window at Culvers restaurant, 1501 W. Dempster St., overnight Oct. 2-3. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
• An unlocked 2000 Dodge Durango on the 1100 block of Greenwood Drive was burglarized just after midnight Oct. 3; an MP3 player, amplifier and subwoofer were taken, at an estimated value of $1,000.
• A wall at Robert Frost School, 1805 Aspen Drive, was vandalized with spray paint sometime recently. Damage was estimated at $100.
• A window at Instant Results, 1701 W. Golf Road, was broken by a rock between 8 p.m. Oct. 3 and 10 a.m. Oct. 4; damage was estimated at $750.
• A plate-glass window at the Mount Prospect Park District building in Lions Park, 411 S. Maple Ave., was smashed between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 7 a.m. Oct. 4; damage was estimated at $300.
• A wooden fence rail at Owen Park, 100 S. Owen St., was broken overnight Oct. 3-4; damage was estimated at $150.
• Lynnea M. Knippen, 17, 165 Lance Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and charged with retail theft from Wal-Mart, 930 Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads. Her court date is Nov. 19.
• Jose O. Segovia, 18, 524 N. Sixth Ave., Des Plaines, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. Oct. 4 and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, criminal trespass and illegal gang contact after officers on patrol saw him in an apartment complex on the 1100 block of Boxwood Drive and knew he had been banned from the property. His court date is Oct. 29.
• Matthew P. Dickman, 26, 1904 E. Grove St., Arlington Heights, was arrested around 2:55 a.m. Sept. 28 and charged with aggravated assault after he charged an officer and threatened to harm him during an investigation in an apartment complex on the 300 block of Hawthorne Circle, police said. His court date is Nov. 7.
• Jiffy Lube, 2 W. Rand Road, was burglarized between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 6:45 a.m. Oct. 2; the cash register drawer, cash and two car batteries were stolen for a loss of about $600. Police said the burglars came in through the back door and that Jiffy Lubes in Oak Lawn and Wood Dale have also have been burglarized in the past month.
Prospect Heights
• A cell phone was stolen from a boy who wrapped it in his sweatshirt and left it on the ground behind St. Alphonsus School, 411 N. Wheeling Road, during a cross country practice between 6 and 6:20 p.m. Oct. 2. The phone was estimated at $75.
Rolling Meadows
• Burglars broke into Fratello's, 3301 Kirchoff Road, through the drive-thru window and stole food and a metal container around 2:05 a.m. Oct. 4. Police responded to the alarm, but the offenders had disappeared. Damage was estimated at $100; a theft estimate was not available.
• A 2007 Ford Focus on the 5600 block of Lavender Court was vandalized overnight Oct. 4- 5; damage was estimated at $700.
• An LCD monitor and a brown duffel bag were stolen out of the bed of a 2002 Ford Explorer while in a store lot on the 1400 block of Golf Road, between 4:20 and 4:45 p.m. Oct. 5. The loss was estimated at $160.
• A home on the 0-100 block of Comstock on Asbury was broken into between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29; the intruder pried open a door to get inside and stole a silver serving platter, silver goblets and several pieces of jewelry. A loss estimate was not available.
• A thief stole a purse around 1:21 a.m. Sept. 28 from a woman loading groceries into her car on the 1300 block of Meijer Drive. She heard a noise, turned around and saw her purse was missing - but she didn't see anyone take it. The loss was estimated at $90.
• A 1998 Ford pickup truck on the 4900 block of Weber Drive was vandalized between 10 p.m. Sept. 26 and 3:45 a.m. Sept. 27; damage was estimated at $200.
• A thief cut a lock and stole a bicycle chained to a tree on the 3300 block of Campbell Street while the owner was playing football in a park, around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The theft was estimated at $80.
Wheeling
• A 1994 Ford Explorer in an apartment lot on the 700 block of Donna Court was broken into overnight Oct. 2-3; an in-dash radio/CD player was taken. Damage and the theft were estimated at $200.
• Someone cut a small, newly-planted tree in half at a home on the 100 block of West Norman Lane, between 5 p.m. Oct. 2 and 8:50 a.m. Oct. 3.
• Someone shot a BB-gun pellet through a home's front window on the 700 block of North Green Drive between 11 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. Oct. 4. Damage was estimated at $200.
• A $200 men's 24-inch black and silver bicycle was stolen from where it was chained in the common area at an apartment building on the 500 block of McHenry Road, between 8 p.m. Oct. 3 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
• A $200 cell phone was stolen from a customer in a laundromat on the 700 block of West Dundee Road around noon Oct. 5.
• A 2006 Honda Civic on the 1700 block of Stonehedge Court was broken into between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5; a GPS unit was stolen. Damage to the car and the theft was estimated at $500.
• A purse and digital camera were stolen from an unlocked 1996 Toyota Camry on the 0-100 block of Holly Court between 6 and 7 p.m. Oct. 5. The theft was valued at $105.
• The outer pane of a double-pane bedroom window at a home on the 1000 block of Pear Tree Lane was damaged by a rock around 12:10 a.m. Oct. 5. The window was estimated at $1,000.
