Comparison of Kaneland District 302, union proposals

Kaneland District 302 contends the difference between its salary proposals and the Kaneland Education Association's proposals is about $1.2 million. The contract expired in June.

The Kaneland Education Association is asking for a three-year contract with a 5.8 percent overall salary increase in the first year, a 6.5 percent increase in the second and a 5.1 percent increase in the third year for a total of 17.4 percent.

The base salary for would be $34,869 in the first year, $36,177 in the second and $37,082 in the third. This contract proposal represents a total of $59.7 million in total cumulative salary costs.

The Kaneland School District is proposing a three-year contract with a 4.5 percent increase in the first year, a 6 percent increase in the second and a 5.3 percent increase in the third for a total of 15.8 percent.

The district proposals a base salary of $34,400 for the first year, $36,623 for the second and $37,581 for the third. The district's contract proposal represents a total of $58.6 million in total cumulative salary costs.
