Bush has cried wolf once too often
Please, let's not buy into the White House Bail-Out Plan. It's just a three-page outline without real specification except to give Paulson unlimited power beyond what our Constitution intended. President Bush's speech was full of lip-service and undue alarm, designed to rush the U.S. into actions that will have consequences far beyond the present difficulty. He's done this before. The plan would socialize the money-losing aspect for corporations while privatizing profits. This would destroy the balances and checks of a free-market economy and further encourage CEO irresponsibility at taxpayers' expense. This is state-sponsored corporate welfare - like Hitler's National Socialism (Nazi Party).
Bush did not capture Osama bin Laden; indeed, encouraged the growth of al-Qaida, rushed us into a perpetual war in Iraq under false pretenses, repeatedly violated the Constitution, encouraged torture violating the Geneva Convention, aroused the international community into a frenzy of anti-American sentiment, did not curb North Korea's and Iran's nuclear enrichment programs, and through lack of oversight and promotion of deregulation got us in the worst situations the U.S. has ever been.
He has paid lip service to the pro-life causes and promised bipartisan cooperation which he has not delivered on. Now his promises to take care of ordinary citizens who hold mortgages, fraudulently sold, in danger of losing their homes and to curb the golden parachutes of the perpetrators of those frauds. This hardly seems credible in the light of past performance.
He has cried wolf once too often to be taken in any way, but insidious.
