Banks leave us with egg on our faces
"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
"Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
"All the King's horses and
"All the King's men
"Couldn't put Humpty back together again."
Could this be a parable representing our financial institutions, suggesting that not even the collective wealth of China, India, Europe and the rest of the world can put us back together again?
Is it possible that we're repeating the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, but that Richard III has been replaced by George II in 2008?
