Retired educators set meetings for season
The Fox Valley Retired Educators' Executive Board recently met to finalize plans for the 2008-09 meetings. The first meeting of the year will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Rex's Cork and Fork, 1317 E. Main St., St. Charles.
The meeting will begin with a social time at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch, a short business meeting and a travelogue by Jack Tucker on India. Jack Tucker, president of the Illinois Education Association-Retired, will also present information on current legislation.
Reservations for the luncheon should be sent to Don Price, 6N119 Woodland Road, St. Charles, IL 60175 by Tuesday, Oct. 6. Make your $16 check for the luncheon payable to Fox Valley Retired Educators.
Future meetings will be on Dec. 9 at Rex's Cork and Fork with the Grandfather's Clock barbershop quartet; March 10 at the Norris Cultural Arts Center Gallery with a catered luncheon and watercolor show; and May 12 at Rex's Cork and Fork with "Dig It!" by Sharon Weber and Marcia Mackenbrock.
Fox Valley Retired Educators is a chapter of the Illinois Education Association-National Education Association-Retired. All retired educators, teachers, administrators, school nurses and secretaries are included. All retired classified and certified personnel are invited to join.
