To Biden, the end justifies the means
On Sept. 9, Sen. Joe Biden questioned the sincerity of Gov. Palin's concern for developmentally disabled people by asking "Why don't you support stem cell research?"
A day earlier on "Meet the Press" when questioned by Tom Brokaw about his support for abortion, he said, "I am prepared as a matter of faith to accept that life begins at conception."
So if I am to understand correctly, Mr. Biden believes that at conception we have human life but that it can be destroyed in order to find cures for birth defects.
Others in the pro-choice arena including Barack Obama have questioned when life begins, which gives them some cover when they argue for the destruction of embryonic stem cells in order to achieve what they might call some greater good.
But Biden, having agreed that life begins at conception, still supports one person's destruction because of someone else's need for a cure.
This "end justifies the means" cavalier attitude toward the value of human life is frightening and indicates Biden's willingness to say anything to get elected.
