Fire damages Oakwood Hills garage

No one was hurt in a Sunday morning garage fire in Oakwood Hills, north of Cary, firefighters said.

The family who lives at 122 Hickory Road got out of the home safely by the time firefighters arrived about 9:50 a.m.

Cary firefighters said they quickly put out the blaze and confined it to the attached garage.

The house sustained smoke damage, but no dollar estimate of the amount of damage was available.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire but do not believe it was suspicious.
