Washington empties our wallets again

The failures of the Bush administration are compound and many, and this financial bailout plan is the perfect capstone to eight years of mismanagement and waste of our tax dollars and national resources.

That giant sucking sound you hear is Washington vacuuming your wallet again.

When you sit at the kitchen table and balance the checkbook, you are taking a responsible financial action for your family's future.

The least we can do is expect our elected officials to act in the same fashion.

Melissa Bean has acted in a financially responsible manner in all of her time in Washington.

She has fought hard for fiscal responsibility and transparency in Congress by consistently voting to cut taxes by eliminating the estate tax, renewing the Savers Tax Credit for eligible IRA contributions, extending lower rates on capital gains and dividends, supporting tax-deductible Medical Savings Accounts for eligible health care expenses, enhancing deductions for higher education expenses, increasing the child tax credit and eliminating the marriage penalty.

This is the kind of congressman we need in Washington.

It is probably too late to stop Bush from putting us another $1 trillion in debt over his last four months in office, but we can send to Congress a fiscal conservative who will work hard to keep the next administration in line.

If you want to stop that sucking sound in your wallet, vote for Bean for Congress.
