Two injured in two-vehicle accident in Algonquin
A two-vehicle crash in Algonquin left two individuals injured, one transported by helicopter to an area hospital.
Algonquin Police and Huntley firefighters responded to a crash between a Volvo SUV and a Ford F350 pickup truck at the intersection of Frank and Algonquin roads at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Both cars were traveling west on Algonquin Road, according to a police news release. The Ford stopped at Frank Road, causing the Volvo to hit the car from behind.
The driver of the Ford had minor injuries and was transported to Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, the release said.
The other, a 34-year-old male, was taken by helicopter to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Huntley Fire Lt. Mike Pierce said.
Algonquin Road was shut down until 2 p.m.
