Second Dominick case suspect to be extradited from Arizona
The second man arrested in connection with the overdose death of 20-year-old Gina Dominick will be extradited to Illinois from Arizona next week to face a drug-induced homicide charge Wednesday in the Rolling Meadows courthouse, police said today.
Andrew Hall, 21, formerly of Mount Prospect, supplied the heroin that led to Dominick's death, police said.
Prospect Heights Police Chief Bruce Morris said his department had interviewed Hall soon after Dominick's death. However, toxicology reports had not come back and police didn't have a clear cause for death.
In earlier interviews, Hall did admit to selling the heroin to Dominick, Morris said.
Hall had lived in Mount Prospect this summer, but recently moved to Chandler, Ariz., which is about 20 miles southeast of Phoenix.
A warrant for his arrest was approved on Sept. 8 after toxicology reports confirmed that Dominick had died of a drug overdose. Hall has been held at Maricopa County jail on $750,000 bond.
Hall was the second person arrested in connection with Dominick's death.
Police had previously arrested Thomas Young, 21, 103 Prospect Court in Prospect Heights. He was charged with concealing a homicide. He was released after posting $5,000 of his $50,000 bond. He has an Oct. 10 court date at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
According to the Cook County State's Attorney's office, Young said he fell asleep after he and Dominick ingested heroin at his home on June 28. Hall was not present at the time, police said.
According to authorities, Young said he woke up to find Dominick unconscious in the bathroom and determined she had died. He drove her to the parking lot at the Prospect Heights library, which is behind his home, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Michael Gerber. Passers-by found her in a car there at about 10 a.m. June 29.
Dominick attended St. Raymond Elementary School in Mount Prospect and graduated from Prospect High School in 2006. Hall went to school with Dominick at some point, said Prospect Heights Detective Sgt. Al Steffen.
