Schaumburg robber strikes again, police say
The masked Schaumburg armed robber hit his ninth Schaumburg establishment Tuesday, police officials announced Thursday.
Sgt. John Nebl, public information officer for the Schaumburg police, said the robber walked into a liquor store on the 2300 block of Bode Drive about 1 p.m. Tuesday and demanded money.
The clerk handed about $200 over to the robber, who fled the store on foot, Nebl said.
"He was wearing a mask and had the same physical description as listed in the previous eight robberies," he said. "This is the ninth in Schaumburg, but the 13th overall including surrounding communities."
He said the robber also has hit the same establishment twice on three different occasions. He said the masked gunman hit a gas station, a convenience store and this liquor store two times each.
"We are actively working on this," he said. "I cannot go into details of what we are doing, but we are tracking down many tips and out in the field hunting this man down."
The robber is described as 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.
Cook County Crime Stoppers has a $1,000 reward available for information leading to his arrest.
