Delnor to hold walk for women's wellness
Delnor Community Hospital will host the eighth annual Walk for Women's Wellness on Sunday, Sept. 28 beginning at Gunnar Anderson Park in Geneva. All proceeds from this 5-mile walk benefit women through educational programming, preventive screenings and special events.
The walk steps off at 8:30 a.m. from the park, and follows the bike trail along the scenic Fox River.
All paid pre-registered walkers will receive a special walk T-shirt. Walkers who register the day of the walk will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. Participants will also be treated to complimentary seated massages courtesy of the Delnor Health & Wellness Center, free osteoporosis heel scans and refreshments provided by Tasty Catering. In addition, there will be informational booths representing many Delnor services at the event and a raffle.
This year's walk is being underwritten by generous donations from the Delnor-Community Hospital Auxiliary and Tasty Catering.
The cost to register is $20 for adults and $10 for children, age 4 to 12. Pre-registered walkers are guaranteed a walk T-shirt. The cost to register the day of the race is the same, however a T-shirt is not guaranteed. Children, age 3 and younger, are free (but do not receive a T-shirt.) Same day registration begins at 7 a.m.
