Worker falls off roof in Vernon Hills

An unidentified 37-year-old roofer was flown to the hospital after he fell off a second-story roof in Vernon Hills Tuesday afternoon.

Countryside Fire Protection District and Mundelein fire officials responded to the call on Royal Oak Drive around noon.

The man had leg, pelvis and lower back pain but did not lose consciousness, fire officials said. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
