Parent criticize Mundelein HS Spirit Day cancellation

The Mundelein High School administration's decision to cancel a popular homecoming week promotion was criticized at Tuesday night's board meeting by a student and another teen's parent.

Other students and parents also attended the meeting because of the decision to do away with the traditional Spirit Day, which had been scheduled for today. School officials announced last week that, because of improper student behavior in recent years, teens will not be allowed to wear colored clothing representing their classes.

Administrators have warned that students wearing such clothing or who disrupt the school day with color-related activities could face suspension or other disciplinary action.
