Bartlett
• Thieves stole 56 calculators from Bartlett Elementary School, 111 E. North Ave. between June 11-July 28 but reported Sept. 9. The loss was estimated at $1,680.
• Gang symbols were scratched on metal washroom stall dividers at Eastview Middle School, 321 Oak Ave., Sept. 9 or 10. Damage was estimated at $50.
• A $4,000 Bobcat attachment was stolen Sept. 9 from a construction site at Brewster Creek Boulevard and Schiferl Road.
• Aluminum couplings were stolen and several hoses damaged at the public works facility, 1150 Bittersweet Drive, around 3 p.m. Sept. 11. Damage and the theft were estimated at $2,600.
• Four support posts worth about $280 were stolen Sept. 11 from a Kimball Hill Homes house under construction on the 100 block of Regency Drive.
• A van parked in the Metra lot Sept. 11 was vandalized; damage was estimated at $1,500.
• A vehicle on Hill Avenue was broken into and a GPS unit stolen around 10 p.m. Sept. 13. The loss and damage was estimated at $600.
Hanover Park
• A red 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck of unknown value was stolen from the 5900 block of Andover West around 1 p.m. Sept. 13.
• Trent A. Kapp, 38, 1113 Prescott, Apt. 1B, Roselle, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. Sept. 13 on the 1100 block of Lake Street and charged with criminal damage to property. A court date was not available.
• Brian R. Morrison, 19, 508 Engle St., Dolton, was arrested around 4 a.m. Sept. 11 on the 7300 block of Barrington Road and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A court date was not available.
Wheeling
• A 2006 Pontiac G6 in a restaurant lot at 1 Huntington Lane was broken into between 8:30 and 8:50 p.m. Sept. 12; stolen was a GPS unit, cell phone, radar detector and toolbox. Total value of the break-in and theft was estimated at $580.
• Two 6-foot tall shepherd's hooks for hanging potted plants were stolen Sept. 10-11 out of the backyard at a home on the 1600 block of Hadley Court; at the same time and on the same block, someone stole two hanging planters from a patio.
• A 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit on the 1400 block of Aldgate Court was broken into overnight Sept. 11-12; nothing appeared missing. A damage estimate was not available.
• A 2004 Infiniti in a driveway on the 500 block of Surf Court was broken into and a radar detector stolen, overnight Sept. 11-12. The total loss was estimated at $300.
• A 2007 Lincoln Town Car on the 100 block of Sunrise Drive was burglarized overnight Sept. 12-13 and a black leather bag and wallet were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry; the theft was estimated at $125.
• A 2003 Cadillac Escalade pickup truck on the 700 block of West Hintz Road was broken into between 3 p.m. Sept. 13 and 7 a.m. Sept. 14; a purse was stolen. The damage and theft totaled an estimated $1,150.
Streamwood
• A Ford Econoline panel van in a store lot on the 800 block of South Barrington Road was broken into and four finish nailers stolen around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 12. The victim saw a green conversion van pull away from a parking space near his van but did not see anyone take the nailers. The total loss was estimated at $800.
• The in-dash radio was stolen out of a Ford Expedition and the thief also tried to remove the in-dash radio out of a Ford Escort, both parked in a driveway on the 800 block of Surrey Drive around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 15. Estimates were not available.
Des Plaines
• The Mobil gas station property, 1602 S. River Road, was vandalized with spray paint around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 12. A witness saw two men, 18-25 years old, painting graffiti but they ran when he approached. Damage was estimated at $150.
• Dennis Park, 18, 1220 Darnell Drive, Mundelein, was arrested Sept. 11 and charged with two counts attempted unlawful use of a credit card. One of his co-workers at a local business accused Park of trying to use debit card information from one customer and credit card information from a second customer to access pornography Web sites. His court date is Oct. 7.
Hoffman Estates
• A vandal drove over a front lawn on the 400 block of West Berkley Lane around 12:50 p.m. Sept. 13. Damage was estimated at $500.
• A rented 2008 Mercury Marquis in a hotel lot on the 2400 block of Barrington Road was burglarized between 1:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 14; an in-dash GPS unit was stolen. There was no sign of forced entry; a loss estimate was not available.
• A 2000 Mercedes on the 600 block of Illinois Boulevard was burglarized between 1 and 4:15 p.m. Sept. 12; a cell phone and two packs of cigarettes were stolen. The items were valued at $114.
Schaumburg
• A home on the 300 block of Bramble Lane was burglarized between 9:15 and 11 p.m. Sept. 11. A loss estimate was not available.
• Someone stole a cell phone and MP3 player from a customer's purse at a store on the 1000 block of East Golf Road between 6 and 7 p.m. Sept. 10. The victim found the cell phone on the floor, but the MP3 player remained missing, The loss was estimated at $300.
• Ten Ford vans and two GMC vans in a parking lot on the 100 block of National Parkway were broken into between 8 p.m. Sept. 10 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 11. Three cordless drills were stolen. Total damage and the value of the drills was estimated at $6,600.
• A car in a lot on the 1100 block of Perimeter Drive was broken into between 9:45 and 11 p.m. Sept. 11 and a MP3 player stolen. Damage and value were estimated at $700.
• Two cars on the 200 block of South Roselle Road were broken into overnight Sept. 11-12. A gallon of antifreeze was stolen out of a 2002 Volkswagen Passat; the damage to the car and theft of the antifreeze was estimated at $710. Meanwhile, a GPS windshield mount and two charging cords for hand-held electronic devices were stolen out of a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. That car's damage and theft were estimated at $225.
Arlington Heights
• Someone threw an egg that broke a 58-inch by 62-inch picture window at a home on the 300 block of South Phelps Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
• Two vehicles were vandalized on the 2600 block of North Windsor between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 12. From one, a Scion TC, nothing appeared to be missing. From the second, a 2008 Mercedes C300, a radar detector was stolen. The damage and the theft was estimated at $300.
