Issues, not gender, make a difference
I have been an independent voter for many years.
I voted for Edgar, Ryan and Blagojevich for governors and have voted for both Republicans and Democrats in a variety of elections.
I am not a woman and maybe that's my problem understanding part of this election.
About 18 million voters supported Hillary Clinton, either because they agreed with her views on issues such as health care, education, pro-choice or because she was a woman. Which?
Now some say they will support Sarah Palin even though her views are directly opposite to Hillary's on the economy, women's choice, health care, and more.
So my question is, are they voting for the woman or the person? Whatever side you are on, issues define both the person and the woman.
