Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses

Was interesting reading this morning about the new Vernon Hills library, community center, and senior housing all to be placed on 9 acres just off Rt. 60. It never ceases to amaze me how our elected officials, in their infinite wisdom, try so hard to keep up with the Joneses in their spending habits. I'm sure if they all try hard enough, without cooperating with one another, they can get a lot more on that 9 acres. Too bad they won't plan this through, and we'll all have a real traffic bottleneck trying to enter this complex with one entrance and exit. With a whole 9 acres available, surely our village officials can come up with a lot more things to put in there. And please don't forget the pond and fountain. You need to make another "statement about Vernon Hills!" Good luck next election!
