Liberal news media is nation's problem

While I agree with your statement that, "The news media isn't John McCain's problem," I cannot agree that the news media isn't the nation's problem. A national media of communications which functions as the mouthpiece of the Democratic Party is the phenomenon which is "downright dangerous," not Republicans who complain about it.

The Democratic Party would be a minority party if the nation had a free press. Republicans have some access to the public via talk radio and that has caused great problems for the Democrats. That is why they are trying to shut it down with their slyly worded, "fairness doctrine."

The Democrats are also pushing for "hate crime" laws, which would suppress criticism of favored minorities. Canada and much of Europe already have such laws in place, which resulted in the prosecution of Christian ministers who preached from the Bible, as well as incarceration of so-called, "Holocaust Deniers."

Whom will they prosecute next, "Global Warming Deniers"? Prominent NASA astronomer James Hansen made just such a call last June, saying climate change skeptics were guilty of "crimes against humanity."

The near-monopoly control that the mainstream press has over political information is neither a matter of opinion nor an example of Republican "scapegoating." Students of the media have documented the unfairness and imbalance for years, organizations like, AIM (Accuracy In Media) and MRC (Media Research Center). Formal studies of news content and staffing have confirmed the same results.

I find it most disturbing that after all these years and all the evidence, editorial writers still refuse to admit the truth.
