I-290 rollovers injure four

Four people were injured in a double rollover accident Friday that closed two lanes of traffic on Interstate 290 in Addison.

Firefighters called to the westbound lanes of 290 west of Wood Dale Road found a car and a sport utility vehicle rolled over. The driver of the SUV was trapped inside the vehicle and it took more than an hour to free her, firefighters said. A passenger was thrown from that vehicle.

Two occupants of the car also were injured. All four were taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The center and right lanes of Interstate 290 were closed as crews worked to free the woman. Details were not immediately available from Illinois State Police.
