Trustee not doing job on Web site
Since Trustee Rich Garling (yet again) had nothing to report at last Thursday's Village of Island Lake board meeting, it's obvious that he is too busy with his next campaign to maintain the village Web site which as Webmaster HE IS PAID to do. The glaring errors in the business section of the village Web site are, quite frankly, insulting to our businesses. However, two noteworthy exceptions to this are his business and Trustee Debbie Herrmann's insurance business.
As Chairman of Economic Development, Garling is charged to work cooperatively to enhance the development of new businesses and to support the existing business owners.
It can only be said that this board holds its own Chamber of Commerce in contempt. They're eager to tax the businesses by enacting a ridiculous business licensing ordinance when they can't even get the correct information on the Web site, the Web site that the taxes paid by these very same businesses helps support.
