Nonconference
Game time: 7:30 p.m.
Last year: Did not play.
Last week: Bishop McNamara 34, Morris 7; Driscoll 17, Germantown (Wis.) 0.
Outlook: This match made in pigskin heaven suffers little from Morris' opening-day loss. The Class 5A power was in a battle till halftime but then fumbled at McNamara's 2-yard line. After McNamara drove the distance Morris fell on the wrong side of momentum. Coach George Dergo's Redskins return starting running back and sole returning offensive starter Adam Tondini from an ankle injury. He benefits from a line that includes 6-foot-2, 270-pound right tackle Aaron Odom and 6-3, 290-pound left tackle A.J. Ulrich. This is a power running attack Driscoll would be wise to skirt rather than engage, said Highlanders coach Brandon New, who started his New Era off on a positive frame in Wisconsin. Driscoll, getting an interception from Joey Calabrese and solid defensive outings from Trace Jenkins, Grant White and Jake Randich held Germantown to 6 first downs and outgained the host 361 yards to 126. Driscoll's own spread produced a touchdown pass to Austin Baker and Nick Campanella's 77-yard touchdown run to crack open a tight game.
