IMSA worker charged with child porn

A custodian at Aurora's Illinois Math and Science Academy has been charged in a federal complaint with felony possession of child pornography.

Robert Reese, 37, of Ottawa, was arrested late Wednesday at the academy by members of the FBI's Innocent Images Task Force.

According to the complaint, the task force believed Reese purchased child pornography over the Internet and searched his Ottawa home last week.

During the search, officers found a portable flash drive containing more than 200 objectionable photos of girls as young as 3 years old.

In a written statement Thursday afternoon, spokeswoman Brenda Buschbacher said the academy was "stunned and deeply troubled by the news."

"Based on our conversations with the FBI and reading of the criminal complaint, the daytime custodian had no illegal contact with IMSA students," she wrote. "On Wednesday morning, the employee was placed on administrative leave pending further investigation."

Reese is being held without bond at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago until his next court appearance.

If convicted, the felony carries a 10-year prison sentence.
