Prospect Heights police still waiting for reports on 20 year old found dead

Prospect Heights police investigators this week said the department continues to wait on toxicology reports for Mount Prospect resident Gina Dominick, 20, who was found deceased in a car parked at the Prospect Heights library lot on June 29.

Although it has been more than two months since Dominick died, Deputy Chief Eric Lundt said it's not unusual for police to wait this long for reports. He did not speculate on how much longer police could be waiting.

Police have labeled the inquiry a death investigation and haven't said how Dominick died. Police have served a search warrant on a Prospect Heights house that's located two blocks away from the library.

Dominick graduated from St. Raymond Elementary School in Mount Prospect in 2002. She is a 2006 graduate of Prospect High School, according to Township High School District 214.

Dominick worked at various pizza places as a manager and a waitress since graduating. She also volunteered at an animal shelter on the weekends, according to friends.

She had completed a year at Harper Junior College in Palatine and had intended to go back this fall.
