Obama: No record, no regard for life
I thought that the Charles Krauthammer piece on Obama's narcissism was spot on. The Daily Herald Web site commentary on this opinion piece is very revealing. Critics of Krauthammer attacked him professionally and personally, which are ad hominem attacks trying to diminish his character rather than addressing the substance of the article.
The essential point of Krauthammer's widely held opinion is the deficiency of Obama's accomplishments. No one can identify a significant accomplishment by our Illinois senator. Given the politics, corruption and state budget in Illinois, I am surprised that his very limited tenure here is received as favorable.
Barack Obama is not a savior. Obama is a Chicago-machine politician and a liar (forgive the redundancy). I highlight only one big lie here:
Obama claims that he voted against the Illinois state version of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) because it didn't have the "neutrality clause" contained in the federal version. Obama was worried that the BAIPA might infringe upon abortion "rights."
The truth is that the Illinois state version DID contain the same neutrality language as the federal act, specifically, "Nothing in this Section shall be construed to affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens at any point prior to being born alive, as defined in this Section." Obama voted against the Illinois BAIPA twice, and then as chairperson he killed the state legislation even though it had the amended language.
Even the National Abortion & Reproductive Rights Action League did not oppose the federal Act. "There is a clear legal difference between a fetus in utero versus a child that's born. And when a child is born, they deserve every protection that the country can provide them."
Obamaniacs can disparage his critics by engaging in ad hominem attacks, but they cannot defend his inexperience or his callous attitude towards human life. If they could, Obama wouldn't have to lie about his voting record or beliefs.
I ask that voters examine their conscience and/or religion before voting for a Democrat who thinks that infanticide is acceptable.
