Arlington Heights cops charge 3 in series of home burglaries

Three people have been arrested by Arlington Heights Police and charged with burglarizing four Cook County homes since spring, police said.

Jorge F. Jimenez, 23, of 29 N. Dryden Ave. in Arlington Heights was found last week in the area of a burglary that was committed in the 1200 block of E. Campbell Street, police said.

After being questioned, Jimenez implicated himself in the most recent burglary and in three other home invasions - a second burglary in Arlington Heights, one in Rolling Meadows and another in Mount Prospect, police said.

Also, police said information obtained from Jimenez during the investigation implicated his two roommates, who were followed by police.

After several days of surveillance, police arrested Ginnette M. Lanningham, 21, and Matthew D. Graff, 25, and questioned the two.

Each admitted their involvement in committing the burglaries, police said, adding they admitted to breaking into the homes to support their drug habits.

Numerous items had been stolen and sold or pawned by the three for the purposes of obtaining cash, police said. Among the stolen items were laptop computers, jewelry, coins, cash and a set of Chicago Cubs tickets.

All the items have been recovered by police and attempts are being made to return the items to their rightful owners.

Jimenez and Graff are being held on $100,000 bond, while Lanningham is being held on $40,000 bond. All three remain in Cook County Jail unable to come up with 10 percent of the bond set for them, police said. All three have also been charged with four counts of residential burglary. They are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 19.
