Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice offers training

Experience the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of others as you provide emotional support, companionship or respite care for individuals dealing with life threatening illness or loss, by becoming a patient care volunteer with Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice. A 10-week training is being offered this fall.

Those interested in attending the training are asked to contact Elise Wall, manager of volunteer services, by Thursday at (630) 232-2233, ext. 219 for an application and to schedule an interview. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for Spanish-speaking individuals; contact Adriana Torres at ext. 227.

Evening training will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 25 to Nov. 20 at Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice, 200 Whitfield Drive, Geneva.

Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice is a community-based volunteer organization. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life by providing the best in compassionate services to persons with life-threatening illnesses and the bereaved. Since its establishment in 1981, Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice has served more than 10,000 patients and families throughout Kane, Kendall, DuPage, McHenry and Cook counties. As the largest volunteer hospice in the nation, it operates strictly on donations received from the community.
