"Cheek to Cheek with Fascinating Rhythms": 3 p.m. Aug. 31; Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights. Stories and songs of Irving Berlin and George Gershwin. Ducks Unlimited fundraiser: 6 p.m. Sept. 5, Atlantis Banquets, 1273 North Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Ducks Unlimited raises money to purchase wetlands for the benefit of migratory waterfowl and other wildlife. Special knives designed by award-winning knife craftsman Bob Rossdeutscher will be auctioned off. The $65 fee includes steak dinner, an open bar, and membership in Ducks Unlimited.
