Addison men arrested in Hallmark burglary
Two Addison teens were arrested in connection with a Tuesday morning burglary at a Hallmark store in Addison, authorities said.
Oscar Salazar, 19, of the 100 block of Rozanne Drive, and Carlos Soval, 18, of the 100 block of South LaLonde Drive, each have been charged with one count of burglary, according to the DuPage County state's attorney's office.
According to police reports, officers responded about 1 a.m. Tuesday to an alarm at Patty's Hallmark, which is located in a shopping center at Lake Street and Kennedy Drive.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the rear door had been forced open and items were missing from the store. The officers were able to get a description of the suspects from witnesses.
About an hour later, two Addison police officers saw Salazar and Soval about two blocks from the crime scene. The men, who matched the descriptions witnesses provided, were arrested, reports said. On Wednesday morning, both men appeared in DuPage County bond court and Salazar's bond was set at $50,000, officials said. Soval's bond was set at $40,000. Both men were being held at the county jail.
